Randolph W. Peterson was a judge on the Minnesota Court of Appeals. He was appointed to this position on December 4, 1990, by Democratic Gov. Rudy Perpich and was subsequently elected in 1992 and re-elected in 1998, 2004, 2010, and 2016.[1] He retired from office on October 2, 2018. His term would have expired on January 2, 2023.[2]

Education

Judge Peterson received his B.A. in political science from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. He was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 1980 and re-elected in 1982 and 1986.[1]

Career

Judge Peterson began his career as a special assistant county attorney in Anoka County. He then joined the law firm Tennessen & Regan. He then served as a state senator until 1990, when he was appointed to the court of appeals.[1]

Peterson was re-elected in 2010. He defeated Roxann Klugman in the general election.[4][5]
