Biography
Boyd graduated from Tremont High School, Itawamba Community College, and Mississippi State University. His professional experience includes working in the forestry industry for 30 years and being a partner in LandTree LLC.[1]

Elections for the Mississippi House of Representatives took place in 2015. A primary election was held on August 4, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[2] Clint Gannon was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Randy P. Boyd defeated Peggy Schumpert Hussey in the Republican primary. Boyd defeated Gannon in the general election.

On November 8, 2011, Boyd won election to District 19 of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He defeated Alan Sheffield in the primary on August 2, 2011.[3] Boyd defeated Democratic candidate Mark DuVall in the November 8 general election.[4][5]

In 2011, Boyd's endorsements included the Mississippi Tea Party. The 19th was one of 10 districts the Tea Party’s Move the House Committee specifically targeted as necessary to win in order to gain conservative control of the House.[7]
