Randy Smalley is the District 6 representative on the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education in Alabama. Smalley won election in the general election on November 8, 2016. He advanced to the general election by defeating incumbent Joe Boteler in the primary on March 1, 2016.[1]

Two of the seven seats on the Tuscaloosa County School System school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. A primary election was held on March 1, 2016.

District 5 incumbent Charles Orr (R) and District 6 incumbent Joe Boteler (R) filed for re-election. Orr was appointed to the board after the primary to replace Mark Nelson (R), while Boteler faced challenger Randy Smalley (R) in the primary. Smalley defeated Boteler to win the District 6 Republican nomination. Orr and Smalley won without opposition in the general election.[2]
