Randy Toler
Randy Toler (Green Party) ran for election for President of the United States. He lost in the Green Party convention on August 17, 2024.
Toler also ran for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Florida. He did not appear on the ballot for the general election on November 5, 2024.
Toler was also a candidate for the District 7 seat on the Hillsborough County Public Schools Board of Education in Florida. He was defeated in the by-district primary election on August 30, 2016.
Previously, Toler was a candidate for the District 6 seat on the Hillsborough school board in 2014. He faced seven other candidates in the general election on August 26, 2014, but did not advance to the runoff election.

2016
Two of the seven seats on the Hillsborough County Public Schools Board of Education were up for general election on November 8, 2016. District 5 incumbent Doretha Edgecomb did not file for re-election, and five candidates vied for her seat on the board in the by-district primary election on August 30, 2016: Joe Jordon-Robinson, Lynette Judge, Jacqueline Leeks, Tarance LeNoir, and Tamara Shamburger. Neither Jordon-Robinson nor Shamburger received more than 50 percent of the votes, and both advanced to the general election. Shamburger emerged victorious. In District 7, incumbent Carol Kurdell also did not file for re-election, and eight candidates competed for the seat in the primary: Joseph Caetano, Alan Clendenin, Norene Miller, Carlos Frontela, Lynn Gray, Stanley Gray, Catherine James, and Randy Toler. James and Lynn Gray advanced to the general election, and Gray won the seat. The District 1 and District 3 seats were also on the primary ballot. District 1 incumbent Susan Valdes faced one challenger to her seat: Bill Person. In District 3, incumbent Cindy Stuart was up against newcomer Alicia Toler. Both Valdes and Stuart won re-election outright when they defeated their challengers by receiving more than 50 percent of the votes cast in the primary. [1][2]

2014
The August 26, 2014, general election in Hillsborough County featured three seats up for election. The general election determined if candidates for each seat could garner a majority of the vote total. Because no candidate received 50 percent plus one of the general election votes in any of the districts, the top two vote recipients in all three races advanced to the runoff election on November 4, 2014.
District 6 incumbent April Griffin was the only board member to seek re-election and faced a challenge from seven other candidates in the general election. Griffin advanced to the runoff election with challenger Dipa Shah.
Newcomers Sally Harris, Michelle Popp Shimberg and Michael Weston ran for the District 2 seat. Shimberg and Harris advanced to the runoff election. Terry Kemple, Dee Prether and Melissa Snively sought election to the District 4 seat. Snively and Temple advanced to the runoff election for the open seat.
