Randy Voepel (Republican Party) was a member of the California State Assembly, representing District 71. He assumed office in 2016. He left office on December 5, 2022.

Voepel (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the California State Assembly to represent District 75. He lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Biography

Randy Voepel was elected to represent California’s 71st Assembly District in 2016. Before joining the Assembly, Voepel served on the Santee City Council between 1996 and 2000, and then served as mayor between 2000 to 2016. Voepel served two tours during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy. After leaving the service, he worked for nearly 40 years in the insurance industry.[1]

Elections for the California State Assembly took place in 2016. The primary election was held on June 7, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was February 25, 2016, for candidates filing with signatures. The deadline for candidates using a filing fee to qualify was March 11, 2016.[2] Incumbent Brian Jones (R) did not seek re-election.
