I'm a father to two young boys (and dog!), and I understand how important it is to ensure we are all doing whatever we can to enable our future generations to succeed. That means waking up every day to ensure these kids are healthy, safe, have access to clean water and clean air, and are getting a quality education - regardless of their zip code.

After getting my MBA, I started at Fiat-Chrysler where I work towards innovative solutions and help prepare us for the future of the automotive industry. A future which will have long lasting effects for Michigan's economy, and it's imperative we have legislatures who understand these opportunities available to Michigan, and also the challenges we may face. We need holistic solutions, from producing the talent required by investing in our public education system, to fixing our infrastructure to prepare for mobility solutions, to building a regional transit system to attract and retain the talent of tomorrow.

To me, leadership is about creating meaningful connections and ensuring everyone's voice is being heard. Our campaign is based on inclusion, equity, and equality, and I will fight to ensure we have a Michigan which works for everyone.
  • Education: Teachers' working conditions are students' learning conditions. As a father, I believe we must make every investment in education because it is the best investment in our future.
  • Economy: Our state's economy and the automobile industry are changing rapidly. As a worker in automotive, I know we need solutions that guide our state in transition while protecting hard-working Michiganders.
  • Healthcare: Every Michigander has the right to accessible and affordable healthcare without bias.
I am most passionate about education. As the father of two young boys heading into the public education system, this is personal for me. Our system of public education is broken, and the quality of education our children receive all too often depends on the zipcode they were born in or any number of factors outside of their control. We need to move toward a more equitable solution. I am also passionate about the state of our economy. As someone who works in automotive, I recognize some of the most significant problems Michigan's economy is facing-from automation to outsourcing to the talent gap. We need to develop holistic solutions that will ensure that people keep their jobs and their livelihoods while we transition to an economy of the future.
To start, be a good listener. Leadership is about creating meaningful connections and ensuring everyone's voice is being heard. If people of color and other marginalized communities feel that their priorities are being ignored, it is because their leaders have not demonstrated empathy. Being able to understand someone's pain on a personal level is the first step to being able to serve them properly as an elected official.
I want my boys to grow up being proud of who they are, and that includes how they look, what their names are, where they come from, and more. I hope that by fighting for a more equal, equitable, and inclusive Michigan - my sons and all kids have a brighter future where they are not only accepted but celebrated as they are.
A busboy at 'The Reserve Inn,' a small family restaurant, which has unfortunately since closed. I worked a variety of jobs at the restaurant including helping to seat guests, bring out food and clean tables. I worked there during my sophomore year of high school. It was a great first job to help gain an understanding of time management and responsibility.
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
I appreciate his candid depiction of his life and exploring issues such as race, equality, equity, and inclusion.
COIVD-19 will have lasting impacts on our state's budget, but we must find a way to adjust without putting the burden on the backs of Michigan's working families. The automobile industry, which was already facing massive challenges as a result of the talent drain, outsourcing, and automation, will see those struggles accelerated because of this economic situation. Finally, we must solve the fundamental issue of education, which is putting our state at a systematic disadvantage as far as talent and economic vitality.
I am a coalition builder. That is the way I have run this campaign, and that is the way I plan to behave in the legislature. This campaign has brought together so many different communities and people of different interests, but our system is the most successful and most effective when we work together on the issues that are important to all Michiganders. I will invest in those relationships because it is in the best interest of my district, but it is also in the best interest of our state.
I am most interested in the appropriations committee because managing our state's budget will be pivotal in guiding our state into a stronger economic position. Also, education is a top priority for me, so I am very interested in the education committee.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Michigan

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
