The City of Jasper requires recall organizers to collect signatures equal to 30% of voters from the preceding city election. The petition is then filed with the person performing the duties of city secretary, who presents it to the city council within five days. The official facing recall can request a public hearing to present information relevant to the charges listed in the recall petition. An election is then scheduled.[2]
