  • Economy For All All Georgians deserve an economy that works for all.
  • Access to Affordable Healthcare Access to affordable and quality healthcare is a vital issue for our community, as many residents in our district face higher rates of certain health conditions and disparities in healthcare access. This includes expanding access to quality clinics and hospitals, better informed physicians, healthier food options, restoring and defending reproductive rights, and legalizing medicinal (and recreational) marijuana.
  • Education Quality education is essential for social and economic mobility. Ensuring equitable funding for schools and addressing achievement gaps are critical to the success of our future leaders. It is time for more experienced educators to create state policy that impacts our schools. Ensuring all students have access to a high-quality 21st-century Georgia public education regardless of where they live or where they are from is a priority for me.
I look up to my great-grandmother, who raised me. She did not have much but she was so dedicated to her family and loved ones. She sacrificed so we had and never complained.
Integrity, honesty, and accessibility. Someone who produces results and is a strong advocate.
I would like to leave a legacy of advocacy, service, and compassion.
I grew up in a challenging environment. Due to the horrible disease of addiction, I was raised by my great grandmother.

I have always said I owe it to my great-grandmother, who raised me, to do all I can to impact lives the way she positively impacted mine. My experience as a parent, teacher, principal, education advocate, government official, and community leader have prepared me to not only be ready for this role, but to also deliver results for the people of the 61st District and the Great State of Georgia. I am an active member of my community having served as Chair and Vice-Chair of Neighborhood Planning Unit K. I am also an alumnus of New Leaders Council Atlanta. I serve on two boards, Georgia Equality and Ivy Preparatory Academy for Girls. I am happily married to Ken Kemp. We are the proud parents of 10-month-old Brooklyn and 18-year-old Jaden.

I am very passionate about education. Education changed the trajectory of my life and I believe it can do the same for all children in Georgia. I want to ensure every student in our community has access to a quality education.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Georgia

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of Georgia scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
