Ray Grimes was a judge for the Montgomery County General Sessions Court, Division III in Tennessee from 1988 to 2020. Based out of Clarksville, Grimes also had jurisdiction over the Montgomery County Juvenile Court.[1][2][3] Grimes was last re-elected in 2014 for a term that would have expired on August 31, 2022.[4] He died on November 26, 2020, from COVID-19.[5]

Grimes received his law degree from the University of Memphis.[1]

Career

Grimes began his career in 1981 as an attorney in Clarksville. He served as county commissioner from 1994 to 1998. He was then elected to the general sessions and juvenile courts.[1]
