Raymond Farmer
Raymond Farmer was the South Carolina Director of Insurance. Farmer assumed office on November 13, 2012. Farmer left office on April 15, 2022.
Farmer was selected for the position by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) on November 13, 2012.[1][2] His appointment was confirmed by the South Carolina State Senate on February 15, 2013.[3]
Biography
Farmer is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He earned a bachelor's degree in insurance from the University of Southern Mississippi and a law degree from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School.[4] Farmer is a member of the Georgia State Bar.[4]
Farmer previously served as vice president of the American Insurance Association and as deputy insurance commissioner for the enforcement division of the Georgia Department of Insurance. He is a veteran member of the board of directors for the Georgia Arson Control Program, an organization that aids firefighters and prosecutors combating arson.[4]
