Raymond Myles
Raymond Myles was an associate judge of the Cook Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. He was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court in October 1999 to fill a vacancy on the court and became an associate judge in June 2001.[1]
Myles was killed outside his home on April 10, 2017. According to prosecutors, he was shot when he intervened in an attempted robbery of his girlfriend. The Chicago Tribune reported that the alleged getaway driver, Joshua T. Smith, was related to the woman's ex-husband and that he had been tracking her movements for weeks prior to the attack.[2]
Biography
Myles earned a B.A. and M.S.W. in social work and a J.D. from the University of Illinois. His professional experience includes work as an administrative hearing officer for the Chicago Department of Buildings, an assistant state's attorney, and a general and criminal law attorney for the Crossroads Law Center.[3]
