The focus of Rebecca Chenoweth's career has been service to the community.

A practicing attorney for over 25 years, Rebecca started her legal career as a Child Advocate in the courts. She went on to represent Child Protective Services and the Public Guardian, advocating for the protection of children, as well as the elderly and dependent adults. Rebecca also served as a Juvenile Justice Commissioner and Judge Pro Tem.

Currently, Rebecca serves as the Chief Operations Officer and Associate Director of an organization that advocates for and provides services to victim of violent crimes, such as domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking.

Rebecca was the top vote getter in the primary election for Assembly District 5 (AD5) in both Placer County and El Dorado County.

Rebecca is the only candidate for AD5 endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, Sierra Forward and The Sacramento Bee.

Rebecca has been a long-term resident of both El Dorado and Placer Counties.
  • Voters are concerned about government interference in women's reproductive health decisions. I support women and their right to make their own decisions.
  • Healthcare costs are ever increasing and out of control. I support coordination of benefits and reining in the medical industry.
  • Rebecca believes in transparency in government and will listen to her constituents.
Rebecca believes that healthcare coverage is a human necessity and that all citizens should have healthcare. Too many times, people delay medical treatment due to the high cost of seeing a physician or filling a prescription. She is passionate about ensuring all of us have healthcare coverage.

Rebecca supports veterans and feels their benefits should not be taxed by California. She will work to see that this is changed.
Rebecca is also passionate about expanding broadband access, reliability and competition everywhere in California. In rural and suburban areas access would enhance work from home possibilities, educational opportunities, ecommerce, telecommutes and, as a side effect, reduced highway traffic. The funding exists but gets stuck in regional control fighting.
Our future economy is reliant on our future workers. Support for our Community Colleges and Early Childhood Education is key to securing a trained and content American workforce.

Rebecca is passionate about our future and current well being.

Compromise is absolutely necessary in policymaking. There must be middle-ground or else someone will find a way to raise the fight another day.
