Rebecca Cornell du Houx was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 15 of the Maine State Senate. She was selected to replace Anna Blodgett, who withdrew after the primary. Cornell du Houx also ran for District 85 of the Maine House of Representatives in 2014.[1]

Biography

While in high school, Cornell du Houx joined the Maine Army National Guard working as a carpentry/masonry specialist with the 133rd Engineer Battalion. She has also trained as an EMT and Combat Medic in the Army National Guard's Medical Detachment.[2]

Cornell du Houx earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maine at Farmington.[2]

Elections for the Maine State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 10, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for party candidates wishing to run in this election was March 17, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the primary election was April 28, 2014, and the deadline for non-party candidates to run in the general election was June 2, 2014. Anna Blodgett was unopposed in the Democratic primary but withdrew afterwards; she was replaced by Rebecca Cornell du Houx. Incumbent Roger Katz was unopposed in the Republican primary. Katz defeated Blodgett in the general election.[3][4][5][6]
