Rebecca Nelson was a Democratic candidate for District 7 in the Maryland State Senate in the November 2, 2010, state legislative elections.

Nelson lost to Republican candidate J.B. Jennings by a margin of 28,890 to 14,848 in the November 2 general election.[1] Republican incumbent Andrew Harris did not seek re-election, but instead ran successfully for a seat in the US House of Representatives.
In the September 14 primary election, Nelson defeated Jim Stavropoulos by a margin of 4,230 to 3,523.[2]
