I have a business degree from St. Thomas and a law degree from William Mitchell. I am qualified by the Minnesota Supreme Court as a mediator. I am a partner in a small law firm where we practice family law and provide mediation services for families.

My husband, Michael and I have lived in Minnetonka for 12 years. We have a giant 5 year-old Golden Doodle named Magnus.

In 2017, I was appointed to the Minnetonka Planning Commission and the 2040 Comprehensive Guide Plan committee. I joined the city council in 2018 where I have served since. In my role on the council, I have served as the chair and leader of the 494 corridor commission which focuses on economic development in the communities along 494.

I love Minnetonka and am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve the city. I have spent the past nine-and-a-half years learning resident needs and how the city runs. I am the only candidate with extensive knowledge and experience working for Minnetonka residents.

My education and 20 years working as an attorney helping families in conflict have given me skills to lead the community and council through complicated or contentious issues in a professional and collaborative manner

I understand the balance of managing and leveraging growth, while maintaining the services that make Minnetonka a desirable community in which to live.
  • Minnetonka has a history of strong leadership and a legacy of providing quality services for the community while continuing to be fiscally responsible and maintaining a Aaa Bond rating. I am so grateful to Mayor Wiersum and all those who have come before him for their excellent leadership and lasting impact. As the next Mayor of Minnetonka, I promise to carry-on this strong legacy. As we look to the future I am committed to ensuring Minnetonka manages our continued growth while maintaining the resources that make us a welcoming, accessible, and desirable community in which to live and work.
  • I have worked hard to ensure that I am available and accessible to all members of the community. I listen to and consider the input I receive from our residents. Even when a community member disappointed in an action of the council, there is an opportunity through dialogue to ensure their input is considered and their concerns are addressed. The business of the city council happens publicly which allows us to engage with the community regularly. I will continue to rely on community work groups and volunteer boards and commissions to bring frequent and informed input to our decision-making.
  • Since 2017, I have been learning resident needs and how the city runs. I am the only candidate who have participated in an ordinance change, considered a controversial and complicated development project, or worked on developing the city budget I have the experience to lead others in these processes. With my colleagues, city staff, and our residents, we can continue to make the right decisions for Minnetonka.
I am passionate about the real issues facing Minnetonka:

Zoning/House - As we continue rewriting our zoning code, we must evaluate requirements to facilitate responsible and manageable growth.

Public Safety - It is critical to support our police officers and firefighters by providing both departments with resources, personnel, and technology required to respond to community needs and emergencies in a safe and timely manner.

Natural Resources - We must continue protecting our natural resources and supporting restoration of open spaces by leveraging community resources and pursuing grant funding and private partnerships to supplement city investments.

Budget - We must manage our budget and be conscientious of the impact of the tax levy.
Honesty, open-mindedness, and integrity are the characteristics that are most important for elected officials. In this non-partisan office, there are so many opportunities to consider varying viewpoints and perspectives in order to make the best decision for the city. As we work to ensure all individuals from all backgrounds have an opportunity to be heard, we also need to be sure that we are considering their input and understanding how our decisions and policies may be impacting them. This is important even if we disagree.
As mayor and city council members, our job is to establish policies that further the mission and vision of the city. It is not the responsibility of the mayor and council to micromanage every decision that is made by city staff. City staff must be impowered to implement the policies that the city council develop.

The mayor also has the responsibility for ensuring that the community has an opportunity to provide input and feedback in the policy making process.
It is important for me to be remembered as kind, smart, and hard working. I have so much respect and admiration for our past mayors and leaders in Minnetonka. It would be a honor to join them in their legacy of fiscal responsibility, reasonable growth, and lasting impact.
I clearly remember watching the Challenger explode when I was in 2nd grade. I am so grateful for how gracefully our teachers handled this traumatic event even though it must have been so upsetting for them to watch it themselves.
I started babysitting when I was in 4th grade and continued until I was able to get a 'real job'. My first formal job was at Perkins as a hostess. I continued to work at Perkins through high school, college, and law school as a server!
The best thing about Minnetonka is the people! We have a wonderful and engaged community that is growing more vibrant and diverse. The community comes together to explore and care for our amazing natural resources and works hard to make Minnetonka a great place to live.
Women Willing, North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters, Minnesota Association of Realtors, State Representative Patty Acomb, Mayor Brad Wiersum, former Mayor Terry Schneider, former Mayor Karen Anderson, Councilmember Deb Calvert, Councilmember Kimberly Wilburn, Councilmember Kissy Coakley, Councilmember Patsy Foster-Bolton, Councilmember Paula Ramaley, former Councilmember Susan Carter, former Councilmember Brian Kirk, Mayor Ron Case, Mayor Mary Supple, Councilmember Lisa Toomey, Councilmember Jennifer Santini, Councilmember Heidi Garrido, Councilmember Clark Gregor
In Minnetonka, there are a handful of residents who have lived her their whole lives! They continue to live in the homes where they were raised. I recall speaking with a resident who shared with me stories about their childhood and how they explored the city when it was full of farmland and horses. To listen to these residents share their love for Minnetonka and the pride in living here, inspires me to continuing working to make sure Minnetonka continues to be a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
