I'm running for the Utah State Legislature because I believe that the people of Utah deserve representation that earnestly and honestly listens to their constituency. Too often I have observed the legislature thwart or delay the clearly expressed desires of their constituents. The most recent examples are the significant changes that were made to the voter initiatives regarding Gerrymandering, Medical Marijuana, and extended coverage of Medicaid Expansion in Utah. Additionally, back in 2014 Utah voted to move to a Primary versus a Caucus election system. We now have a hybrid system that includes both. Why?- I will be the voice of my constituents. Their vote is my vote.
- Stop the gerrymandering. We need fair districting wherein voters choose their representatives, not the representatives choosing their voters.
- Decisions regarding the Lake Powell Pipeline and the Northern Corridor must be made based on science, fact and conservation .
Education: We spend less, on a per student basis than every other state in the nation.
Accessible and affordable healthcare.
Women's health issues: Women's bodies should not be legislated.
