I was raised in Ogden where I began my career in the local IRS office as a seasonal employee. Looking for advancement opportunities, I transferred out of state and after 25 years of government service I had advanced to the management position of Associate Chief of Appeals, GS 14. I lead a team of 18 employees: 12 Appeals Officers (Administrative Judges) and six auditors. After retirement, I chose to pursue other opportunities and became a Financial Advisor for Prudential Securities.

My volunteer experience includes: teaching conversational English in foreign countries, working in hospitals, hospice, women's shelter and I was a rape victim's advocate.

I'm running for the Utah State Legislature because I believe that the people of Utah deserve representation that earnestly and honestly listens to their constituency. Too often I have observed the legislature thwart or delay the clearly expressed desires of their constituents. The most recent examples are the significant changes that were made to the voter initiatives regarding Gerrymandering, Medical Marijuana, and extended coverage of Medicaid Expansion in Utah. Additionally, back in 2014 Utah voted to move to a Primary versus a Caucus election system. We now have a hybrid system that includes both. Why?
  • I will be the voice of my constituents. Their vote is my vote.
  • Stop the gerrymandering. We need fair districting wherein voters choose their representatives, not the representatives choosing their voters.
  • Decisions regarding the Lake Powell Pipeline and the Northern Corridor must be made based on science, fact and conservation .
Redistricting: The 2020 census will be the basis for drawing our new congressional lines in 2021.

Education: We spend less, on a per student basis than every other state in the nation.

Accessible and affordable healthcare.

Women's health issues: Women's bodies should not be legislated.

Public lands should stay public.

Elected officials should be fair, empathetic, considerate, honest and a good listener.
My first memory of a significant historical event was President John F Kennedy's assassination.
We could hear the live broadcast of news over the schools loud speakers. I was 14 years old at the time and will never forget it.
My first job was working as a Tax Examiner, IRS Correspondence Unit, Ogden Service Center.
