Reggie Joule (b. July 14, 1952) is a former Democratic member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing the 40th District from 1997 to 2013. He retired to run for Mayor of Northwest Arctic Borrough, Alaska.[1]

Biography

Joule's professional experience includes working as a recruiter and administrator for the Alaska Technical Center, Project Manager with Kotzebue IRA and Special Assistant for President - Tikigaq Corporation.

Joule is a member of the Advisory Council for the Boys and Girls Club and the Kotzebue Local Fish and Game Advisory Board.[2]

Issues

  • HB 74 - "An Act relating to the Alaska coastal management program; and establishing the Alaska Coastal Policy Board."
  • HB 106 - "An Act relating to grants to nonprofit regional corporations, and, in certain situations, to municipalities with populations of less than 10,000, for village public safety officers in rural areas"
  • HB 180 - "An Act amending the percentages required to be paid by a municipal school district receiving a school construction or major maintenance grant; making a conforming amendment to a bond debt reimbursement provision referencing the percentages; and providing for an effective date."[3]

Joule won re-election to the 40th District seat in 2010. He had no opposition in the August 24 primary election or the November 2 general election.[4][5]

2008

In 2008, Joule was elected to the Alaska House of Representatives District 40. Joule (D) ran unopposed and finished with 4,236 votes.[6] Joule raised $22,276 for his campaign fund.[7]
