Barrow (Democratic Party) won re-election to the Louisiana State Senate to represent District 15 outright in the primary on October 14, 2023, after the primary and general election were canceled.
Barrow is a former Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 29 from 2005 to 2016.
Biography
Ashford Barrow's professional experience includes working as the executive director of R§Z UP LOUISIANA, administrative assistant for Inner Reflections, and a legislative assistant to former state Representative Sharon Weston Broome.

On October 22, 2011, Barrow won re-election to District 61 of the Louisiana House of Representatives. She defeated Edmond Jordan (D) in the October 22 primary. Because Louisiana uses a blanket primary system, a candidate can be declared the overall winner of the seat by garnering over 50 percent of the vote in the primary.[4]
