Biography
Goldstein graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1981 with a B.A. in political science. He later earned an M.A. in international relations from Johns Hopkins University in 1990. Goldstein works as a strategic planner for private sector and federal government clients. He has volunteered time with the district's Family Network, Advisory Council on Instruction and Strategic Planning Committee. Goldstein and his wife have children who attended district schools.[2]

The Arlington School Board consists of five at-large members who serve staggered four-year terms. The board is officially nonpartisan, though there is a history of candidates receiving party endorsements. There was no primary election, and the general election was held on November 3, 2015. One seat was up for election in 2015.[3]
The seat of incumbent Abigail J. Raphael was up for election for a four-year term.[4] Reid Goldstein won the seat, defeating Brooklyn Kinlay.[1]
