Reldon Owens was a Republican candidate for Louisiana Public Service Commission, district 4 in 2016.[1] District 4 covers southwest Louisiana.[2]

A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, Owens attended Alexandria Senior High and earned a bachelor of science in marketing and management from Northwestern State University. Since 2005, Owens has worked for Diamond B Construction & affiliated companies, a family-owned transportation and infrastructure construction business. He serves as the executive team's director of external relations. Owens has also served on the governor's Transportation Task Force and as a member of the boards for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry Executive Committee, the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, Blueprint Louisiana, and the Central Louisiana Economic Development Association.

Owens and his wife, Charissa, have been married since 2003 and reside in Alexandria. The couple has three children: Ryland, Livia, and Addison.[3]

Owens ran as a Republican candidate in the 2016 election for Louisiana Public Service Commission in the fourth district. He was one of two Republican candidates running in the blanket primary on November 8, along with Democrat Mary Werner. In Louisiana, if a candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote during a primary election, no runoff election is held.[4][1]

Mike Francis defeated Mary Werner and Reldon Owens in the Louisiana public service commission, District 4 election.
