Judge Remeko Tranisha Edwards was born in Selma, Alabama; however, moved to Texas with family when her father retired from the United States Army. She attended Lancaster High School, Prairie View A&M University, University of Texas at El Paso, and University of Texas at Arlington for undergraduate studies. After receiving her Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, she became a juvenile detention officer and then a probation officer before she decided to continue her studies in law school. She received her Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. After practicing for 14 years, she became the Presiding Judge of Dallas County Criminal Court No. 7 in Dallas County, Texas. Judge Edwards feels honored and humble to have the opportunity to serve Dallas County and the criminal justice system. She continues to serve in her community through her church (Antioch Fellowship MBC), Christians in Public Service Org (CIPS), Dallas Alumanae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. (DST), South Dallas Business Professional Women Club (SDBPWC), Women Called Moses (Domestic Violence Org) and the Dallas Mexican American Bar Association (MABA-Dallas). Judge Edwards is unopposed in the November 2022 General Election cycle and she looks forward to the opportunity to continue to serve as Judge of Dallas County Criminal Court No. 7 in Dallas, Texas. She continues to believes in serving Justice with Integrity.
  • Justice is fair and should be administered with Integrity. All parties shall be heard and the Court is the people's Court.
  • Education is key and the court process should be shared and understood by all that enters the court system and all that want to know.
  • The Courthouse is a public building and all who want to understand the criminal justice system should be able to come and see firsthand and learn the process.
