Rena M. Van Tine (Democratic Party) is an acting judge of the Illinois 1st District Appellate Court (Assigned). She assumed office on July 18, 2023.

Van Tine (Democratic Party) is also a judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. She assumed office on February 19, 2021. Her current term ends on December 4, 2028.

Van Tine (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Van Tine also served as an associate judge on the Cook Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois from 2001 to 2021.[1] She was reappointed in 2011, 2015, and 2019.[2][3][4]

Biography

Van Tine earned an undergraduate degree from Oakland University and a law degree from New York Law School.[1] Prior to her appointment to the circuit court, Van Tine served as a Cook County assistant state's attorney and special counsel to Illinois State Comptroller Daniel W. Hynes.[5][1]
