Rene Plasencia (Republican Party) (also known as Coach P) was a member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 50. He assumed office on November 8, 2016. He left office on March 14, 2022.
Plasencia (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 50. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Plasencia was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2014. He represented District 49 from 2014 to 2016.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Incumbent Joe Saunders was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Rene Plasencia defeated Ed Rodriguez in the Republican primary. Plasencia defeated Saunders in the general election.[6][7]
