As of 2016, Renee Parsons was a former vice president of community outreach with GoDaddy, an Internet name and domain hosting company. She was also the co-founder, with her husband Robert, of the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, a philanthropic organization that focused on the Phoenix, Arizona, area.[1]

Career

Renee Parsons began her career in hospitality sales, according to Phoenix Business Journal.[2] She joined GoDaddy in 2009 and worked as the vice president of community outreach, specializing in GoDaddy's philanthropic work. An Inside Philanthropy profile, described the giving of the Parsons and GoDaddy, saying, "he Parsons are emerging as very active philanthropists in the Phoenix and greater southwest area. What's more, the charitable arm of GoDaddy, GoDaddy Cares, also does much of its grantmaking in Phoenix, with one priority being STEM education."[3]

Foundation

In 2012, Bob and his wife Renee started the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, a philanthropic organization that focuses on the Phoenix, Arizona, area. The two have pledged to give over half of their net worth away during their lifetimes as part of The Giving Pledge. The foundation has six focus areas for giving: Youth, Medical, Veterans, Education, Homelessness, and the American Dream.[1] Parsons previously directed philanthropic giving for GoDaddy, and she told the Phoenix CBS affiliate that her work at the company inspired much of the Phoenix-based giving of the Parsons Foundation. She said, "It was a great experience because I really got to know the community so much better. The greater Phoenix area and all the people that are working in the nonprofit organizations who are really making a difference. ... The at-risk youth. The underserved populations and homelessness. HIV/Aids. A lot of causes that don't have a lot of glamour to them and possibly lacking support but are making a difference in the areas they serve."[4]
