I’m Renee LaPalme Waldron, a dedicated community leader with deep roots in northeast Connecticut. As a mother, small business owner, and longtime advocate for our local communities, I’ve spent years working to improve the lives of those around me. My passion for public service stems from my commitment to ensuring that everyone—whether it’s families, seniors, or small business owners—has the opportunity to thrive. I’ve been active in local organizations, from promoting environmental sustainability to advocating for affordable healthcare. I’m running for state representative because I believe in the power of good governance to uplift communities. My goal is to represent the hardworking people of Putnam, Thompson, and Killingly at the State Capitol and to advocate for policies that support good jobs, affordable housing, accessible healthcare, and strong public education. I’m ready to bring common-sense solutions to the table and ensure our region’s voice is heard loud and clear.
  • Supporting Working Families: I will advocate for policies that create good-paying jobs, affordable housing, and access to healthcare, ensuring that everyone in our community can thrive, regardless of their background or income.
  • Investing in Our Future: From improving infrastructure to supporting small businesses and environmental sustainability, I will work to secure investments that strengthen our community and create a brighter future for the next generation.
  • Investing in Our Future: From improving infrastructure to supporting small businesses and environmental sustainability, I will work to secure investments that strengthen our community and create a brighter future for the next generation.
I’m passionate about improving education, expanding healthcare, supporting small businesses, and promoting environmental sustainability. I believe every child deserves access to quality, affordable education, and I will fight for increased state funding to reduce the burden on students and families. I’m committed to expanding healthcare access, especially in underserved areas, and supporting local hospitals like Day Kimball. I will work to boost small business growth and job creation while advocating for policies that protect our environment and preserve the rural character of our community.
The most important characteristics and principles for an elected official are integrity, transparency, and accountability. Integrity ensures that leaders act with honesty and remain committed to serving the best interests of their constituents. Transparency fosters trust, as it allows the public to understand decision-making processes and hold their representatives accountable. Elected officials must also possess empathy, actively listening to the concerns of their community, and working to represent all voices fairly. Additionally, a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to public service is key to driving meaningful change and promoting the common good.
I believe my qualities of empathy, dedication, and strong leadership would make me a successful officeholder. I’m deeply committed to listening to and understanding the needs of my community, ensuring that all voices are heard and represented. My passion for public service and my hands-on experience in local advocacy show my dedication to creating meaningful change.

I also bring strong organizational and leadership skills, which are essential for driving initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver results. Additionally, I’m solution-oriented, focused on finding practical ways to address issues such as education, healthcare, and economic development. This combination of empathy, dedication, and effective leadership will enable me to serve the community well as a state representative.
The core responsibilities for someone elected to state representative are to advocate for the needs and interests of their constituents while ensuring the passage of laws that benefit the community. This includes actively engaging with residents, listening to their concerns, and bringing those voices to the State Capitol. A representative must also work to secure funding and resources that improve local infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development.

Additionally, crafting and voting on legislation that addresses key issues, from job creation to environmental sustainability, is crucial. Collaboration with fellow lawmakers and stakeholders to find solutions that serve the public interest, while maintaining transparency and accountability, is essential. Ultimately, the responsibility is to represent the district fairly and effectively while working for the betterment of the entire state.
My campaign has received a wide range of endorsements, showcasing strong support across the political spectrum. Notable endorsements include the Connecticut State Building Trades, AFT, Working Families Party, CSU-AAUP, SEIU, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, ARTCT, and many others.

What sets my campaign apart is the broad backing from Independent voters and Republicans. The endorsement of the Independent Party highlights my commitment to bridging divides, while support from numerous Republicans reflects their belief in my vision for effective governance. This coalition reaffirms my dedication to serving all constituents and finding solutions that benefit everyone in our community.
