Renita Hamilton
Renita Hamilton was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 105 of the Georgia House of Representatives. She ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in 2012.
Biography
Hamilton earned her B.A. in mass communication and broadcast journalism from Savannah State University and her M.P.S. in strategic leadership from Tennessee State University. Her professional experience includes working as a corporate/social event planner for Polished Affairs, LLC. Hamilton has twenty years of experience in residential and commercial real estate development, hospitality management, the nonprofit sector and owns a local small business.[1]
Elections
2014
Elections for the Georgia House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014, with runoff elections taking place where necessary on July 22, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Renita Hamilton defeated Tim D. Hur in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Joyce H. Chandler was unopposed in the Republican primary. Hamilton was defeated by Chandler in the general election.[2][3]

2012
Hamilton ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 105. Hamilton defeated Rashid Malik in the Democratic primary on July 31, 2012. She was defeated in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5][6]
