Replacement commissioner named in California
January 28, 2011
SACRAMENTO, California: Angelo Ancheta, a professor at Santa Clara University School of Law, was named to the California Citizens Redistricting Commission on Friday.[1]
Ancheta, who lives in San Francisco, replaces Elaine Kuo, who resigned from the commission earlier this month. Ancheta is the second commissioner from san Francisco County.
The commission is in charge of California's redistricting process. California has 53 Congressional districts and 120 state legislative districts that will require new maps to reflect updated population counts.
