Biography
Rex Richardson earned bachelor's degree from California State University at Dominguez Hills. Richardson's career experience includes working as the manager of government affairs with Crown Castle, a chief of staff with the 9th council district of the City of Long Beach, the president of the Southern California Association of Governments, and the political and community coordinator with SEIU Local 721. He has served on the governing board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District.[4][5][6]

2014
The city of Long Beach, California held city council elections on June 3, 2014. A primary election took place on April 8. Because one candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the District 9 primary, the general election was called off. Rex Richardson defeated Benjimin C. Daugherty.[7][8][9]
