Reynaldo Aligada
Reynaldo Aligada is a judge for Position 18 of the Minnesota Second Judicial District. Aligada assumed office on September 23, 2019. Aligada's current term ends on January 4, 2027.
Aligada ran for re-election for the Position 18 judge of the Minnesota Second Judicial District. Aligada won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Governor Tim Walz (D) appointed Aligada to the court on August 6, 2019, to replace Judge David C. Higgs.[1] He took office on September 23, 2019.[2]
Biography
Aligada received a B.A. from Saint John’s University and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.[1]
Prior to becoming a judge, Aligada served as the first assistant federal defender at the Office of the Federal Defender in Minneapolis. He also worked in civil litigation and as a judicial law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota and the Minnesota Court of Appeals.[1]
