The Rhode Island Departments of Corrections, Proposal 5 was on the ballot in Rhode Island on November 2, 1982, as a legislatively referred bond question. It was defeated. The measure would have authorized $8.5 million in bonds for the renovation of and upgrades to medium and maximum security correctional facilities.[1]
