The Rhode Island Four Year Terms, Proposal 4 was on the ballot in Rhode Island on November 2, 1982, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment would have set the terms of the governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, treasurer, attorney general and state legislators at four years.[1]
