The Rhode Island Industrial Building Authority, Proposal 8 was on the ballot in Rhode Island on November 6, 1973, as a legislatively referred bond question. It was approved. The measure extended the Rhode Island Industrial Building Authority's power to insure payments on mortgage loans on new real estate improvements and equipment to control pollution. It increased the maximum aggregate amount of unpaid principal balances on all mortgage loans for industrial products to be insured from $40 million to $80 million.[1]
