The Rhode Island Legislative Compensation, Proposal 7 was on the ballot in Rhode Island on November 6, 1973, as a convention referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment would have set annual compensation for state legislators at $2,000 per year, with the House Speaker receiving $4,000. Mileage compensation would have been set at 15 cents per mile.[1]
