Rhode Island Suffrage, Proposal 1 (1973)

The Rhode Island Suffrage, Proposal 1 was on the ballot in Rhode Island on November 6, 1973, as a convention referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment set voting and residency qualifications, including a minimum age of 18 years in accordance with the recently-passed Twenty-sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution. It also barred those convicted of a felony from voting while serving their sentences.[1]
