I am a parent of three, a business women, passionate community volunteer, consultant, change management professional and visionary who is skilled at bringing people together to improve systems and outcomes. I care deeply about our community and the wellbeing of each individual. I believe government should work for all, not some, and that leaders are those who do the work, hold the responsibility, listen with intent and speak truth. I am not an expert in all things, but work to gather information on all sides of an issue and take informed and thoughtful action to achieve desires results.
  • Government must opperate in an honest and transparent manner and work to protect all citizens regardless of socioeconomic status, race, age, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
  • Strong and equitable public education is the foundation of a stable and vibrant economy that promotes equality and prosperity.
  • Healthcare is a right not a privilege and a healthy community is a prosperous community.
Health care, education, public safety, ethics & transparency, equality, infrastructure.
To represent all people and put personal opinions aside to the facts of the matter and the betterment of the broad community.
My first professional job was as a High School English Teacher.
I do not believe that it is essential for state legislators to have previous government or political experience, I do believe however, that there are very direct skills that are beneficial in being successful as a state legislator. The ability to assess needs and opportunities in a thoughtful, unbiased way is valuable. The ability to listen and gather information that helps inform decision and outcome is necessary. A state legislator is called to act on a variety of subjects, often ones in which they may not have direct experience. Having experience in consulting, gathering experts, reaching out to all sides of an issue and understanding how to assess the chance of desired outcome in a fiscally viable way are essential. There also must be a strong ability to learn, pivot an adapt. As a single parent, business professional, educator and entrepreneur I possess these skills.
Open lines of communication regardless of party affiliation are essential. Mutual respect and open honestly results is more efficient and effective outcomes for all.
Unequivocally yes. Actively consulting with all viewpoints is essential for responsible governing and results in greater efficiency and better management of limited resources.
I would have interest in leadership positions once I determine where my skills can best be put to work for the good of my constituents.
