Zacharias is a technology professional employed by BMC Software, Inc. She has more than 25 years of information technology experience in the oil and gas, software and transportation industries.[1]

District 7 incumbent Rhonda Zacharias was the only incumbent to file for re-election. She faced challengers Melisa Roberts and Mark Wiatrek. Roberts defeated Zacharias.
In the District 4 race, three candidates vied for the seat held by Julie Thompson. They were Tyson Harrell, Sofia Sheikh and Joy Williams. Harrell won the open seat.
District 5 featured four candidates: Kimberly Ashley, Lynn Franklin, Sharon Lovelady and James Steenbergen. Incumbent Dar Hakimzadeh chose not to seek re-election of his seat, which Steenbergen won, instead.
