I love my community and want to make it a better place. I have worked with to create opportunities for our children both in and outside of school, placed more than 4,000 people in jobs and assisted more than 200 entrepreneurs launch businesses.

My husband and children have always supported these efforts and continue to motivate me to work on behalf our community. I have been preparing for this run for sometime and it is my sincere desire that you stand with me as I advocate for resources and economic opportunities for us all.

I have fought during my time on the State of TN Workforce Development Board, to ensure residents in Greater Memphis have access to the funding and quality resources needed to move more mid-southerners towards middle income, as well as, shape statewide policies to protect the future of all Tennesseans. But, I know that we need more! We must build stronger communities through stronger families, focus on rebuilding our communities while keeping them affordable, and protect the most vulnerable of residents while they age in place. It is for this reason and so many more that I wish to run for State Senate in District 33. I would like to humbly ask for your prayers, your vote and your support.
  • We must fight to protect a woman’s right of choice and all citizen’s constitutional “right to privacy.”
  • We must protect worker's rights, the ability to negotiate fair wages and safe workplaces.
  • Everyone deserves affordable housing, affordable healthcare and the ability to age in place.
Jobs & Small Business: Economic vitality is key to the success of every thriving community. The diversity needed to accomplish this level of vitality is only possible through intentional policy focus on creating good jobs and strong small businesses.

Housing: More and more members of our community are being priced out of communities where they have lived their entire lives. Addressing the need of families by keeping housing affordable is critical to the stability and well being of us all. We must take a long hard look at ways to increase the amount of affordable housing stock while encouraging responsible community-supported development projects which directly address the needs of the community.

Healthcare: As a stroke survivor I understand the need for adequate healthcare especially for those with chronic health conditions and our seniors. Did you know more than 250,000 Tennesseans are without healthcare? That's too many of our neighbors without coverage, many of them essential workers. They may be the person bagging your groceries or working at the daycare center where you leave your children each day. They are working, don’t qualify for traditional Medicaid, and don’t earn enough to receive insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act.
