A Rice Lake Area School District Tax Levy Exceeding Revenue Limit Referendum measure was defeated on the February 19, 2013 election ballot in Barron County, which is in Wisconsin.
If approved, this measure would have authorized the Rice Lake Area School District to increase its debt by $20,420,000 by issuing general obligation bonds in that amount in order to fund the construction, renovation and remodeling of several school facilities in the District.[1]

| “ | BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of the Rice Lake Area School District that there shall be issued pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $20,420,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of constructing additions to and remodeling and renovation projects at the high school, including those to upgrade science, technology and agriculture facilities; constructing additions to and remodeling and improvement projects at the middle school, including those to upgrade science facilities and to improve the safety of the bus drop-off area; constructing additions to and remodeling and renovation projects at Tainter Elementary School, including projects to accommodate the repurposing of Jefferson Elementary School; and acquiring furnishings, fixtures and equipment.[1][2] | ” |
