Rich Bolen was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Lexington One School Board in South Carolina. He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Bolen was also a 2012 Republican candidate for District 18 of the South Carolina State Senate.

The November 4, 2014, general election in Lexington School District One featured three seats up for election. Incumbents Sandra Backman, Debbie Knight and Brad Pitts triumphed over challengers Rich Bolen and Janet Ballard Frazier for the at-large seats.

Funding

Candidates were required to file a quarterly finance report with the South Carolina State Ethics Commission for the November general election by October 10, 2014. This report covered the period of July 1, 2014, through September 30, 2014. Candidates were also required to file a pre-election report no later than 15 days prior to the election. A final report was due after the campaign had closed. Candidates for local school boards could not accept more than $1,000 from individuals and $5,000 from political parties.[1]

Bolen did not receive any endorsements during the election.

Bolen ran in the 2012 election for South Carolina State Senate District 18. He lost to incumbent Ronnie Cromer in the Republican primary on June 12. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4][5]
