Candidate Connection

Rich Cunningham participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 13, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Rich Cunningham's responses follow below.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Implement and Fund the Quality Education Model

2) Make Oregon more business friendly through tax breaks for businesses that create new jobs and maipartixipate in business education partnerships.
3) Increase child care tax credits for working class families so they have more actual income in their pockets[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

Public education has been my passion for almost 30’years. I believe we must provide real funding to make sure our kids are ready for whatever they decide to do after they graduate from high school. Other areas I am passionate about are. Making comprehensive health care a fundamental right of every citizen. Addressing and finding a cure for the 24 billion dollar deficit in our state retirement system for public employees (PERS). Giving working class families tax breaks so they can have more money to spend on their families. Campaign Finance Reform which would see limits on what you are allowed to spend in a political campaign in order level the playing field and drastically reduce the levels campaign funding in OregonCite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]
