Richard B. Lowe, III
Richard B. Lowe, III was a justice for the New York County Supreme Court, Civil Term in the 1st Judicial District of New York. He was elected to this position in 2003 and his last term expired in 2016.[1][2]
Education
Lowe received his B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1964 and his J.D. degree from St. John's University in 1967.[1]
Career
Lowe began his career in 1967 as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County. He worked in that capacity and was Chief of the Trials Division until 1979. He then moved to Washington and became an Inspector General for the Dept. of Health and Human Services until 1981. That year, he became Chief Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Oversight. He then worked as Chief Counsel to the Select Committee on Narcotics Abuse and Control from 1983 to 1985.
In 1985, Lowe was appointed judge of the New York City Criminal Court, where he served until 1987. He was elected to the Supreme Court in 2003.[1]
