Richard Brescher was an at-large member of the Edison Township Public Schools school board in New Jersey. Brescher won the seat in the at-large general election on November 8, 2016.

Brescher previously ran for an at-large seat on the Edison Township school board in the general election that was held on November 3, 2015. He was defeated in that race.[1]

Brescher earned his high school diploma from John P. Stevens High School. He is the founder of Just About Building Associates Inc. and previously founded RK Associates. Brescher and his wife, June, have two children who attended district schools.[2]

Three of the nine seats on the Edison Township Public Schools school board were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. Theresa Ward was the sole incumbent to run for re-election. Ward, Richard Brescher, and Xiaohan Peng defeated William Araujo for the three seats up for election. Nilesh Dasondi originally filed to run but withdrew from the race before the election.[3]

Funding

Brescher reported $20,877.27 in contributions and $18,039.76 in expenditures to the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission, which left his campaign with $2,837.51 in the election.[4]

Three seats on the Edison Township school board were up for general election on November 3, 2015. The seats of incumbents Deborah Anes, Lora L. Fong, and Margot Harris were on the ballot.[5] Anes won re-election, while newcomers Ralph Errico and Shivi Prasad-Madhukar joined the board. They defeated William Araujo, Richard Brescher, Hollie Gilroy, Dennis Pipala, Deborah Schildkraut, and Kiel Thoms. Anes, Pipala, and Schildkraut were running as a slate.[1][6]
