Richard C. Schoenstedt was the chief judge of the Twelfth Circuit Court in Illinois.[1] He was elected to the bench in 2002.[2][3][4] He was retained on November 4, 2014, for a term that expired on December 6, 2020.[5] He was retained again in 2020 but retired from the court effective January 17, 2021.[6]

Schoenstedt was retained to the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court with 74.1 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [5] 

Evaluations

The Illinois State Bar Association and participating attorneys rated Richard C. Schoenstedt as Recommended for retention in a 2014 poll.[7]

Education

Schoenstedt earned a B.A. from Marquette University and later received his J.D. from DePaul University.[8]

Career

Prior to becoming a circuit judge in 2002, Schoenstedt was appointed as an associate judge for the Twelfth Circuit Court. Before that, he worked as a lawyer in Will County. He was admitted to the bar in 1981.[8][9]
