Richard Chalk, Jr.
Richard Chalk, Jr. (b. July 3, 1952) was a Republican member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 123.
Education
Chalk earned his B.A. in political science from The Citadel in 1974. He went on to receive his MCM from New Orleans Baptist Seminary in 1979.
Professional experience
Chalk was the Owner of Specialty Wood Products from 1983 to 1990. He then worked as a Broker for Brown Investment Properties, Incorporated from 1990 to 1999. In 1999, he worked for Prudential Commercial Services as a Sales Associate. From 2000 to 2003, he was Minister of Music at North Island Baptist Church. Chalk has worked for Bosley Commercial Properties/Bosley DeMint Realty since 2000. He has also been the Music Leader of Indigo Pines Fellowship from 2003 to the present. He has worked as Associate Director of Room at the Inn of the Lowcountry since 2006 as well.
Political experience
Chalk served in the North Carolina House of Representatives from 1985 to 1989. He then served in the North Carolina State Senate from 1989 to 1990. He joined the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2004 and served in that position until 2010, representing the 123rd District.

2010
Chalk lost to Andy Patrick in the Republican runoff on June 22 by a margin of 3,438-1,453. Chalk was seeking his fourth term.
2008
On November 4, 2008, Chalk won re-election unopposed to the South Carolina House of Representatives with 13,961 votes, representing District 123.
Chalk raised $61,135 for his campaign.[1]
