I am a farmer, a veteran and a Mills County Supervisor. My family is my greatest source of pride. I have been engaged in farming for 50 years. I am very active in my community and region. I have made great contributions in the areas of mental health services and sound budget monitoring. During two recent floods I was able to provide leadership in developing solutions for flood victims. I have served as a County Supervisor for 18 years and am very proud of the accomplishments of our Board during that time and also of my personal record of always responding promptly to my constituents, and really being there for them to assist with their concerns. I am a conservative leader dedicated to faith, family and the people of Southwest Iowa.
  • I am a bold leader. I do not sit quietly by. I handle problems aggressively- finding common sense solutions.
  • I will have only one permanent home and it will be in the District. I will only be in Des Moines when required-otherwise I'll be visible and active throughout District.
  • I will respect the taxpayers- guarding their money as if it were my own and responding to their communications promptly and directly,
I am passionate about tax and fiscal policy. It is our sacred responsibility to keep the burden on taxpayers as low as possible and to spend their money as effectively and efficiently as we possibly can. I believe in going through government budgets line by line.
I also care deeply about mental health services for our people- most particularly the young. I fight against unfunded mandates that cripple city and county governments and do not deliver essential services.
I also consider the protection of the unborn and the Second Amendment to be vital issues.
