The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Bikram K. Mohanty was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while C. Ellis Black and John P. Page advanced past Richard David Raines in the Republican primary. Black faced Page in a runoff election on July 22, 2014, which Black won. Mohanty was defeated by Black in the general election.[2][3][4][5]
