Richard Dunne
Richard Dunne was a Democratic candidate for treasurer of Vermont in the 2016 election.[1] He was defeated in the Democratic primary election.
Biography
Dunne was born in Mercer County, New Jersey. He earned his undergraduate degree from Rider University in 2009 and began his professional career in 2010 as a financial analyst with Bloomberg LP. He went on to become a claims analyst for Choice Strategies and also worked as a freelance strategic policy consultant.[2][3] As of 2021, Dunne was a student at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University.[4]

Dunne filed to run as a Democratic candidate in the 2016 election for treasurer of Vermont.[1] He was defeated by incumbent Elizabeth Pearce in the August 9 Democratic primary election.

Dunne's campaign website included the following positions:
- For the state pension fund to divest in fossil fuel
- Expand businesses' access to participation in the state pension fund in order to decrease unfunded liabilities
- Eliminating wasteful spending to address state debt
- Establishing as state bank[5]
