Richard Franklin (West Virginia)
Richard "Ben" Franklin was a Republican candidate for District 27, West Virginia House of Delegates in the November 2, 2010 state legislative election.
Franklin was an electrician. He works in the automobile industry.[1]

Franklin was defeated for District 27 on the ballot in the November 2, 2010, general election. He was one of nine candidates running for the five positions in District 27. He was opposed in the general election by Democratic incumbents Virginia Mahan, Rick Moye, Sally Matz Susman and William Wooton; Democrat Mel Kessler; Republican incumbent Linda Sumner, and Republican Rick Snuffer and John David O'Neal. Only the top five vote-getters were elected.[2][3]

Franklin's website highlighted the following campaign themes:
- Education - Believes teacher salaries and retirements should be getting better.
- Clean Coal mining - Believes that coals is West Virginia's most reliable resource and should build a coal to gas plant to increase tax revenue.
- Tourism
- Conservative - Franklin is pro-life, pro-NRA, Anti-Gambling, and believes marriage is between a man and a woman.[1]
