Richard Geist (b. November 21, 1944) is a former Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 79 from 1979 to 2013.

Geist earned his AA in Design Technology from Pennsylvania State University in 1965. He was then a Kellogg Fellow at the Pennsylvania State University Public Affairs Leadership Program. He has worked as Senior Manager for EADS Corporation and as a Consulting Engineer.

Geist lost in the April 24, 2012, primary to John McGinnis.[1]

Geist won re-election to the 79th District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition and was unchallenged in the general election which took place on November 2, 2010.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Barbin won election to the 79th District seat of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He received 19,124 votes running unopposed.[5]
