Richard Hilderbrand
Richard Hilderbrand (Republican Party) was a member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 13. He assumed office on May 1, 2017. He left office on January 8, 2023.
Hilderbrand (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Kansas State Senate to represent District 13. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Hilderbrand resigned from the Kansas State Senate in 2023 to focus on his business and family.[1]
Hilderbrand was first appointed to the chamber on April 30, 2017, to replace Jacob LaTurner (R), who was appointed to serve as state treasurer.[2][3]
Biography
Hilderbrand's professional experience includes operating a Shelter Insurance office in Baxter Springs, Kansas. He served as a Cherokee county commissioner for seven years.[4]

A special election for the position of Kansas State Senate District 13 was called for November 6, 2018. A special primary election was called for August 7, 2018. The filing deadline for this election was June 1, 2018.[5]
Former state Sen. Jacob LaTurner was appointed to the position of state treasurer in April 2017. Richard Hilderbrand was appointed to the seat on April 30, 2017. A special election was held in November 2018 for the final two-years of LaTurner's term.
